Z Talks with Eki O. Aghedo
Z: Tell us a little bit about yourself & what you do
I’m a designer and fashion entrepreneur, I make and sell handbags with my brand KISARA. I’m also a content creator and a lifestyle blogger.
Z: What was your inspiration for setting up Kisara?
I’ve always loved bags but after designing clothes and blogging for sometime I decided to try making handbags with a little twist, something to make it unique. We started with cane but there’s a lot more I’d love to explore as the brand grows.

Z: Of all the things in the world, why handbags?
Because one size fits all 😂 but honestly, it’s a great way to elevate your look and once you find a unique piece it’s really hard to let it go, I want to give people something special that can always make them look good no matter their size. In addition, being a part of the Nigerian leather industry’s growth is my way of contributing to the African fashion industry as a whole; creating jobs and feeding my passion to create all at the same time.
Z: Who is Kisara made for?
KISARA is for any lady who’d like a statement bag, a conversation starter, something unique.
Z: How would you describe your personal style?
I’d say comfortable, colourful & simple.

Z: What was the first piece of jewelry you ever owned?
Probably earrings my mum gave me for school which I most likely misplaced after a couple of weeks 😄
Z: How did you get it & and how did it make you feel?
Got them from my mum and made me sparkle so I felt good, it was definitely a confidence booster.
Z: How would you describe your jewelry style?
Pretty much everything Zivanora makes I love. I like simple and elegant styles but I also like quirky jewelry as well for days when I want to make a statement with shapes or colour.
Z: What is your favorite Zivanora piece?
My hoops! They need to be polished/replaced but it’s my absolute fave. Next would definitely be my engraved necklaces.
Z: What's 1 great insight can you share with other female entrepreneurs?
Be patient, it’s always darkest before the dawn. Lastly, be a believer in believing (something I learned from my husband).
Z: What's your dream for 2020?
To continuously improve on myself and my business. Becoming a better me, spreading love, positivity and helping others do the same in any little way possible.
Z: Random Question! straight or curly hair?
CURLY ALL THE WAY SIS! I feel more like myself when I have curly hair, I don’t know what it is but I just feel more like me.
