A Word With: Jennifer Le
Zivanora isn't just about the jewelry but the men and women who adorn them and make the brand what it is. We love to hear the stories, celebrate lives and style of our tribe.
This month, we caught up with Publicist, Lifestyle blogger and Zivanora Woman from San Fransico, Jennifer Le. Jennifer isn't just a client of ours but was our very first model for our debut collection, Essence.
Zivanora: Hi Jennifer! So so excited to be catching up with you today. Please introduce yourself.
JL: Hi! My name is Jennifer. I’m a PR professional, and the founder and editor of prestigequeen.com. I help businesses develop relationships with the media, raise brand awareness, and grow through press exposure.
Zivanora: So why PR & when did your love for PR begin?
JL: In college, I thought that I wanted to be a journalist. I was writing for a lifestyle magazine at the time, which was a great learning experience for me. I had no idea what PR was, but as I was writing for the publication, I started getting a ton of pitches from different PR firms. I became very interested in what they were doing. As I looked into it more, I realized PR was the combination of everything I love to do: tell stories, build relationships with people, and help businesses grow.
Zivanora: What’s the most memorable project you’ve ever worked on?
JL: I helped launch a Car Vending Machine! The launch got a ton of coverage. People were excited about it. I enjoyed seeing people excited about it and seeing the press excited about it.
Zivanora: What is the best piece of advice you have ever gotten in life?
JL: It sounds cliche, but it’s so true. Stay in your own lane. You will never fulfill the calling on your life if you’re living for the opinions and approval of other people. By looking left and right at what the other person is doing or what other people are thinking, you’ll get distracted. Be yourself unapologetically.
Zivanora: What was the first piece of jewelry you ever owned?
JL: The first piece of jewelry I remember owning is a jade necklace.
Zivanora: How did you get it? And how did it make you feel?
JL: It was a gift. The color of jade is so beautiful and serene, and to me, it’s really special because of its common portrayal in Asian art and culture. It’s more than just a gemstone but reminds me of who I am.
Zivanora: How would you describe your jewelry style?
JL: I would describe my jewelry style to be feminine and minimalistic, which is why I appreciate Zivanora so much. Jewelry sometimes intimidates me, but I love wearable, simple pieces that I can throw on to wear to work, a girls’ brunch, date, or whatever. I love jewelry that’s versatile and can be worn for any occasion.
Zivanora: How do you think your style has evolved over time?
JL: I feel like the more I’ve grown, the more I appreciate simplicity. Less is more.
Zivanora: What is your favorite Zivanora piece?
JL: There are so many incredible pieces to choose from! I love the Zivanora Essence Disc Double Hoop Earrings. They’re like your classic hoop earrings but amped up.
Zivanora: Any advice for brands or businesses looking to hire a PR professional like yourself?
JL: PR is an investment. I wish more businesses would recognize that. It’s not something that you can one-off and expect results. If you’re going to invest in PR, find a professional you trust that will work and develop those relationships on your behalf, and the results will come over time.
